Mount Vernon

It was decided that a trip to Mount Vernon, home of George Washington, was essential! As well as being a historical feat of genius it provided the perfect setting for family photographs. We arrived and discovered that the queues to view inside the house was far stretching so we contented ourselves with the grounds, which housed plenty to see. George Washington was a man of progressive thought and the original agricultural processes and devices are still on show today. The house is situated within sight of the Potomac River and there is many a pleasant vista to be observed! It is highly worth visiting though I would recommend paying the extra and booking a time slot to see the house online to avoid the two hour queues that are frequently observed.
